A 300+ hp (flat rated) turbine that weighs well under 300 pounds designed for small general aviation aircraft. Is this what the high-end piston market has been waiting for? Pilots may be asking, and Mooney may have an answer. Aviation news at www.avweb.com

    how much? do thay cost?

  2. The redline of a weak Cessna is to low. Get a Mooney? :-)

  3. shoopwhoopX on January 4, 2012 @ 4:52 pm

    is it available? from hobbyking?

  4. flyingisamazing on January 4, 2012 @ 4:55 pm

Cause a mooney can handle the speed?

  5. moreleftpedal on January 4, 2012 @ 5:05 pm

    WHY MOONEY? Why not Cessna?
Would love an STC to? stick one of those in my 182 RG…

  6. pretty cool. when? you look at it there isn’t alot of materials used to construct something so advanced

  7. I wonder if I could stick one in a? bike? Output shaft might have to be pointing in a different direction… or be mounted on the underside of the engine.

nice? really wounderfull engine all the thing and dream i realise with this kit
    eddy

  9. Well with 100 LL going by by, Thank you EPA and they are have a tough time with? coming up with a replacement, This engine would solve a lot of problems. In most places in the world 100 LL Avgas is hard to come by. Jet -A , Diesel and home heating oil is the way to go. Would love to have it on my PA-32-300 that I fly. But like a lot of things that engine would set me back way more that what I spent on the airplane.

  10. Before thy pt it in piston aircraft model thy will have to build stronger airframe. e.g cessna 172.?

  11. peanuts2105 on January 4, 2012 @ 8:36 pm

It’s nice to say my airplane is powered by a Rolls Royce. Not many people can say that. Even my girlfriend thinks? that’s cool

  12. ScottyintheSky on January 4, 2012 @ 9:02 pm

Man I wish I had some Cash, and a Rutan airframe….?

  13. that will be strapped to a go kart before? next year is ended i bet ya

  14. the US military tried that back in the 60′s. There? were officers wives driving around military housing areas in jet powered cars lol. it was not very practical for many reasons

  15. XdriftfreakX on January 4, 2012 @ 10:35 pm

can you put it in a y2k??

  16. i wanna see something like this powering? our cars. would be neat to see that work. perhaps i could come up with something

  17. I want this engine in a? cirrus and cessna.

  18. This engine looks great. I know Mooney is operating on a skeleton staff during these tough? economic times. I hope that Mooney’s interest in this engine does not dictate its fate. I’m also curious if Rolls Royce will make this engine available to kit builders as well as certified aircraft manufacturers.

  19. @mrtrainboy019? lots of reasons-
    1.costs to much
    2.humans cant go that deep
3.its soo far rusted if it touches the surface it will fall apart
    4. its too heavy, unless you cut it up then what the point

  20. mrtrainboy019 on January 5, 2012 @ 2:49 am

why didnt they use this equiptment to? raise the titanic

  21. GangstaThug15 on January 5, 2012 @ 3:02 am

Nice Piece Of History You? Got There

  22. MOUSANTENIOS on January 5, 2012 @ 3:47 am

  25. ThatsMrMoronToYou on January 5, 2012 @ 4:57 am

Why did they go to all this trouble? when they could have asked Aquaman to get some whales and a few octopi to help? I guess they didn’t think of it.

  26. Thanks for posting, great video & photos; just saw a vid on this plane in flight at an air-show (somewhere in? Germany, I think) restored & air-worthy. Thanks for posting, cheers.

  27. yep! It can be restored! te? skeletal frame is still intact!

  28. SANDYAIRCORP on January 5, 2012 @ 5:25 am

Nice that they went through all of these efforts to recovery that aircraft. Too bad that they did not bother to have aircraft specialists nearby, for they would not have ruined the plane by putting it? down on the edge of the ponton then. They cut that part of the video out which shows how the entire aft fuselage gets torn off and sinks again …

  29. thebestpioltever on January 5, 2012 @ 6:15 am

Ye sure, but will take alot? of tape :D

  30. surly thats scrap could that ever be? rebuilt

  31. nicothegreat795 on January 5, 2012 @ 7:29 am

it flyed and now it? flyed again, out of the water that is.

  32. greenseaships on January 5, 2012 @ 8:21 am

What I find so remarkable is the strength of the plane itself. We’re talking decades of decay underwater in a fraction of normal gravity. Then a big trimotor plane is asked to put up with normal gravity long enough to? be lifted out of the water and placed on the ground. Sure, they spread the straps out across the wings, but that’s still ALOT of stress. Wow.

  33. greenseaships on January 5, 2012 @ 8:22 am

@Gromitdog- Allstate cancelled Hitler in the late 30s. I think? when the Hindenburg blew up. *_*

  34. There? was one type of Ju52 with skis i know that

  35. good? question

  36. victoriathunder54 on January 5, 2012 @ 9:43 am

I know there was a body found on the? plane what happened to the recovery of the soilder that was found in it

  37. KamikazeSeb on January 5, 2012 @ 9:59 am

    did? they restored that?

  38. insurance? will cover all of this if hitler used allstate.

  39. perhaps the? Spanish built more as they did the bf-109

  40. yes, I have a vid showing it but don’t recall the vid name at the moment.?

  41. ProfessorK100 on January 5, 2012 @ 12:50 pm

don’t? they have one of these at the wright patterson AFB museum in Ohio?

  42. Let’s see Greece? I’m guessing used by the Fallschirmjager durring the 1941 invasion of Crete. Hope they found the crews’ relatives to return the? remains. Great video!

  43. Bofors machine guns?

    Bofors are anti aircraft guns,
    not? machine guns.
